Manufacturing Coordinator

Salary negotiable plus benefits

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm

Our clients well established firm in St Ives Cambridgeshire, has a new post due to company expansion.

The manufacturing coordinator works to ensure that production schedules are met and deliveries to customers are completed on time. The coordinator works with planning, purchasing, production and transport to expedite product through the manufacturing organisation.

The Manufacturing Coordinator will have the following

•Ability to liaise with customers both over the phone & or email, both in finding out when materials are required and confirming deliveries
•Discuss future work with the department managers / designers (as and when required)
•Log on jobs to production / delivery lists. Ensuring all required details are added to the schedules
•Release work to the factory
•Liaise with the Product / Team Leaders (Factory) on a regular basis to ensure delivery dates will be met & reporting any issues that may delay deliveries
•Liaise with departments to ensure materials are available when required, consult with design teams if required to resolve issues.
•Should a delivery date change, ensure all systems are updated in a timely manner. If required notify the relevant Product / Team Leader of any changes when re-issuing production schedules
•Keep in contact with the Transport Team Leaders to ensure the drivers are not being held up either on site or on the road, if required contact customers to keep them informed of the position of their delivery
•Weekly budgets - All departments have a weekly target of sales. Our client will need to look to try and ensure that they schedule the workload in such a way that delivery dates are met and they maintain the required sales, should a departments weekly figure be in excess or below the target levels this needs to be discussed in advance so they have the option to look at the situation and potentially adjust delivery dates to suit.
•Quality Assurance Schemes - The company hold various certifications this will involve preparing and attending audits, maintaining certification and ensuring all records are kept up to date

Manufacturing Coordinator Requirements

•Microsoft Excel & Word - Due to most schedules being excel based our client would require any candidate to be used to working with both excel & word
•Ability to communicate at all levels, will be required to communicate with customers, product/team leaders, factory staff, management & contribute to production meetings
•Outgoing personality with a good work ethic and attention to detail
•Ability and attitude to work under pressure
•Product understanding and manufacturing processes will be part of the initial on the job training
•An interest in the manufacturing / building industry would be an advantage??
