Quality Team Leader
£42,000 to £48,000 plus bonus and benefits
Our client is looking for a bright and proactive Quality Team Leader to join their growing team in Cambridge. If you are an experienced quality inspection professional with organisational skills and with a demonstrable desire for getting improvements in product quality, then this is the role for you.
Responsibilities for the Quality Team Leader
You would join a growing, busy but close-knit quality team and, under the direction of the Operations Quality Manager, would be leading a team in a range of Quality related functions, including, the release of the product, management of NCR's and daily running of MRB process. This will primarily involve:
Managing a team of people through guidance and instruction, organisation of workload for the team
Control the release of products from manufacturing
Managing the Supplier Auditing Function
Responsible for comprehensive completion and auditable traceability of inspection records.
Support continuous improvement activities as required.
Maintain all area 6S requirements ensuring that the business targets are maintained, and corrective / improvement plans exist where required
Liaise with other internal departments e.g. Production, Engineering etc. to resolve manufacturing issues where identified by the Operations Quality Manager or other senior members of Operations.
Compile data and present it in a proactive way to influence process and design improvement.
Collect and present data regarding functional performance to line management.
Take an active role in the reduction of non-conformance and lead any relevant meetings including MRB meetings.
Liaise with outside parties to drive continues improvement.
Take an active role in RCA
Carry out any other duties appropriate and as required by your line manager - Operations Quality Manager to support business requirements.
Health & Safety
Skills / Education for the Quality Team Leader
An ONC/HNC in an Engineering/Quality discipline or higher degree of education, or extensive demonstrable industry experience
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written including to senior personnel
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate and lead teams to ensure goal achievement.
The ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative both internally and externally
Demonstrable experience working to tight timescales whilst maintaining quality standards
The courage and confidence to challenge product progression in the event of discovering a non-conformance
A positive attitude and good judgement skills
Proven management experience
